SBU of blue dream. Parliament has limited powers of the Security Service for visa-free regime with EU

The Verkhovna Rada endorsed the bill that limits the powers of the Security Service of Ukraine in the investigation of crimes against national security, reports “Correspondent”. He was voted 325 deputies.

The document brings the powers of the security services to conduct pre-trial investigation of criminal offenses and the implementation of the criminal proceedings against crimes in the sphere of national security and defense.

The bill passed in the framework of implementation of the recommendations of the European Union to strengthen the fight against organized crime. Brussels wishes regarding changes in legislation Ukraine performs for the liberalization of the visa regime with the European Union.

November 10 President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko urged parliament to vote for the bills necessary for the introduction of a visa-free regime with the EU, including the norm prohibiting employment discrimination against sexual minorities.
According to Poroshenko, the adoption of a package of laws depends on the fate of a visa-free regime. “We must do everything so that every Ukrainian citizen had the opportunity to travel without visas to the countries of the Schengen zone,” - he stressed.

November 5 Verkhovna Rada voting for the draft of the new Labour Code does not include in it the norm prohibiting discrimination against sexual minorities. In rejecting this amendment, the MPs did not meet the conditions necessary for the liberalization of the visa regime with the EU.

Kiev considers the introduction of a visa-free regime as an important step towards the integration of Ukraine into the European Union. However, Brussels postponed the process. In May, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that the easing of visa requirements for Kiev and Tbilisi from Brussels is not yet possible.
