Ukrainian Defense Ministry announced plans to increase its military budget by 5% of GDP

The Cabinet of Ministers supported the increase in the defense budget in 2016 at the level of 5% of gross domestic product. This was in the air “on Channel 5,” said the director of the Department of Social and Humanitarian Policy of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Valentin Fedichev, reports UNN.
“As of September 2014, we had the opportunity to be a part of the forces of the antiterrorist operation in all 50 battalions of combat-ready. In September 2015 - three times more - 150 trained, equipped, fully secured battalions”, - he said.
According to him, in 2015 it has been allocated 45 billion UAH to finance the APU. “For increasing the combat capability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are the incredible efforts of the Ukrainian people. It is the people of Ukraine gave in 2015 to fund the Armed Forces of the record budget since independence - almost 45 billion UAH. Cabinet has supported the increase in the defense budget in 2016 at the level of 5% of gross domestic product. This is a civil feat of the Ukrainian people “, - said V.Fedichev.
Recall that the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that the economic downturn in Ukraine reduced, and of bank-financial system is stabilized.
