Administration Yushchenko expects problems with the November payments to Gazprom

The representative of the President of Ukraine on Energy Security Bohdan Sokolovsky predicts the next exacerbation with gas payments for November, given that its own funds in "Naftogaz Ukraine" lacks only a third of the monthly payment.

The cause of the problems he sees in the contracts of January 19, 2009. He said that the fines provided for in the contracts for the shortfall of Ukraine's gas, the highest in Europe. "At the same time reducing the volume of transit of the Russians virtually no sanctions", - he said.

The representative of the President of Ukraine on international energy security issues said that the issue of payment for gas for October was resolved through the intervention of the Head of State Viktor Yushchenko. According to him, the president at the meeting urged the leadership of the National Bank to take the opportunity of the special procedure of the IMF loan to pay for gas.

According to Sokolovsky, it is the only way to resolve the situation and avoid the prescribed penalties. However, he notes, the continued practice of borrowing threatens the negative consequences of "Naftogaz Ukraine" and the country - the loss of control over the gas transportation system. On the eve of Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko at a meeting in Mariupol announced that Ukraine had transferred $ 500 million for the gas consumed in October 2009.
