The interviewee noted that it would be hard to predict what will be the case if the new President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych does not override the decision of his predecessor, Viktor Yushchenko on the attribution of S. Bandera title Hero of Ukraine.

“Without a doubt, if this issue will rise as it was done by President Yushchenko, it was hard for me to imagine a situation where individual representatives of the EU will assume that it is in the European aspirations of Ukraine”, - he said.

“Regardless of the intentions with which these tools were applied, is not a European way of doing politics“, - said the deputy, who represents the EP in the Polish ruling party Civic Platform.

Interlocutor UNIAN noted that the Ukrainian authorities themselves should decide to cancel or not to cancel this decision.

“Ukrainians are free to decide in this matter, but it is also a signal - if the Ukrainians choose to closely cooperate and - God forbid - to join the EU, Ukraine … should respond to these values,” - said P. Zalewski.
