Putin: "South Stream" should discipline Ukraine

One of the challenges the pipeline "Southern stream" is to "discipline" the Ukraine, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.

"Diversification of our supply of hydrocarbons will increase their stability and reliability. It will be disciplined, including our partners in transit", - said Putin.

"I very much hope that our main transit partners - Ukraine - will meet all its contractual obligations under the contract signed in January 2009. If the transit countries will perform their obligations, from our side there will be no problems" — the Prime Minister stressed.

Gas pipeline South Stream, whose task is to bypass the unstable transit country Ukraine, must pass from the Black Sea coast of Russia and Bulgaria, and then continue to the south of Italy and Austria. Capacity of the new pipeline system is planned in the amount of 63 billion cubic meters per year, length - 900 km.
