Crimean deputies gave Russian a regional language

The Crimean parliament adopted a resolution on the use of Russian language as a regional.

For the adoption of resolutions on the implementation of constitutional guarantees to free use of Russian language in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, and facilitating the implementation of the commitments of Ukraine to implement the standards of the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages “voted 75 deputies, 1 against, out of 94 voters.

According to the document, in recent years in Ukraine “sharply intensified a campaign to oust the Russian language. According to the Crimean deputies, this demonstrates the need to take certain measures to protect the rights and interests of the Russian-speaking population, without infringing on the rights of the Ukrainian language, as well as other national minorities of the Crimea.

In addition, Parliament turned to the autonomy of the parliament with a proposal of implementation of the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages in full.

Also, the Crimean parliament decided to implement measures under the European Charter for Regional and Minority Languages on the use of Russian as the regional work of the Supreme Soviet of Crimea.

Simultaneously, the Crimean parliament proposed the parliament to adopt a draft law on guaranteeing the free development of the protection of Russian and other languages of national minorities.

Crimean deputies appealed to the Party of Regions MP Alexei Boyarchuk, Boris Deich, Vadym Kolesnichenko and Alexander Chernomorovu to amend the established order the bill to the Verkhovna Rada and to support it in its consideration.

As reported Ukranews, before the Crimean parliament adopted a final decision to rename from “Parliament” in the “Supreme Council”.
