In Odessa, all schools have bilingual

In Odessa, in all schools are now teaching in two languages: Russian and Ukrainian, according to “Ukrainian Truth”. This was stated by the mayor of Odessa Gregory Kostusev on Radio Ekho Moskvy.

Kostusev said that the administration of Odessa has “serious” program of conservation and development of the Russian language, according to which changes have been made in the statutes of 124 city schools.

“We stand for anyone to anyone is not imposed, the language they speak, what language to teach children. And so now in Odessa ukrainskoyazychnyh no, no Russian-language schools, they are all bilingual - it is possible though, so you can at least since” - added Kostusev.

According to the mayor of Odessa, the study of Ukrainian language as the state remains in the city required.

The mayor of Odessa, said that without the Russian language the city “will lose the identity and cease to be Odessa. “Great our Odessa, great writers, we know all their names, they are created, written in Russian,” - said Kostusev.

Recognition of the Russian language as a second state in Ukraine and the general protection of Russian citizens were among the main election promises of the Party of Regions and President Viktor Yanukovych.
