The court ordered the Timoshenko compensate Naftogaz $ 189 million loss

The court sentenced the former prime minister of Ukraine Tymoshenko to seven years in prison and ordered to reimburse “Naftogaz” $ 189 million loss.

Court in Kiev on Tuesday upheld a civil action “Naftogaz” and decided to charge the former prime minister Yulia Tymoshenko’s 1 billion 516 million hryvnia (about 189.5 million dollars) in favor of a national company, RIA Novosti in the courtroom.

On Tuesday, the court found guilty of abuse of Tymoshenko’s authority in signing gas contracts with Russia in 2009. “Naftogaz” at the beginning of the process, said a civil suit and ordered to collect from the ex-premier 1.5 billion hryvnia. It is in the same amount the company estimated its loss from operations Tymoshenko, who is in the midst of the gas crisis between Moscow and Kiev reached an agreement with Russia under the terms of supply and transit of gas.
