In Ukraine, journalists for disclosing information about the private lives of officials can now impose a fine or even jail.

On Tuesday, the country’s Constitutional Court announced the verdict, according to which information concerning the financial status of officials, as well as information about members of their families, recognized as confidential.

Disclose such information, you can now only with the consent of the officials or in the interests of national security.

The intrigue is that the current composition of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine is formally independent, but in fact has already a number of decisions favorable to Yanukovich and the ruling party.

Now, in fact, officials were able to omit the income of your family members in the declarations that are required to submit annually, in accordance with the anti-corruption legislation, said in an interview to “Kommersant-Ukraine” deputy Gennady Moskal.
